Biography
Teddie Brambaifa, also popularly known as Teddie B has
always been artistically expressive, in his own words. In his school years he
was always involved in expressing himself musically, either being in a band or
a singing group at some point or another; and always ready to entertain. The
positive feedback he got made him invest himself more into music, propelling
him to major in Theater Arts in University of Port-Harcourt.
As an emerging artist, he spent time honing his craft, a
venture which paid off with him being an opening act for major and established
acts like Tuface Idibia, Styl-Plus, P Square, Faze, and several others. He even
opened for international act Wayne Wonder.
With his unique style of reggae, soul and R&B, it was no surprise he was
awarded The Best Singer two years in a row, by The Association of Theater Arts
Students in 2004 and 2005. He was also honored with a Merit Award by The
Faculty of Humanities in 2006.
He debuted his first single “Leaving” in June 2004, and
in November of that same year dropped his second single “Omoge”. Both were
favorably received by radio, garnering a steady air play. His debut album “Against
all odds” was released in 2011, and enviably got him 5 nominations at the
prestigious Port-Harcourt Awards, also known as “The Odudu Awards”.
Choosing to explore other artistic ventures, Teddie
decided to venture into broadcasting, becoming a presenter and producer of a
morning TV show, which became a hit, giving him several awards including, Best
TV Presenter, Best Gospel Program (Gospel Rhythm) and Best Program Award
(Optimum Sounds) at the Bayelsa Media Awards.
With achieving such success in broadcasting, Teddie has
decided to return to his first love – music. In September 2015, he dropped his
first single “My Empress”, and is working on releasing his sophomore album next
year.
